Colombia’s Minister for Communications Visited KISDI
Officially invited by the Korea Communications Commission (KCC), Maria del Rosario Guerra, Colombia’s Minister for Communications, and her staff visited the Korea Information Society Development Institute (KISDI) on November 27.
President Suk-Ho Bang welcomed the delegate with welcoming remarks, followed by the introduction about KISDI, the broadcasting & telecommunications research institute, presented by Dr. Ha-yeon Kang, one of the research fellows at the International Cooperation Research Division. In addition, Kuk-Hwan Jeong, one of the senior research fellows at the Convergence and Future Strategy Research Division, gave a presentation about Korea’s Information Network Village (i.e. e-village) as a part of the nationwide efforts to bridge the digital divide.
The Colombian delegate posed questions about the budget and operation of the e-village. They, also, put questions about how to measure the information society index of e-village. Having in-depth discussions with the KISDI counterparts, the Colombian delegate proposed to explore the opportunities of cooperation between the two countries.
