The Korea Information Society Development Institute (KISDI, President Kwon Ho-yeol) announced that Director Jung Yong-chan of KISDI had been elected vice-chairman for the year 2021, at the video conference of the 29th regular meeting of the OECD Working Party on Measurement and Analysis of the Digital Economy. 

Dr. Jung is currently serving as the Director of the ICT Data Science Research Division of KISDI, and is expected to contribute significantly to the working group based on his expertise and experience in the field of statistics.

The working group is carrying out measurement and statistics activities that will form the basis for the establishment of digital economy policies, and has recently discussed the use of new digital technologies such as AI, IoT, and cloud services, the level of digitalization of individuals and companies, and the economic and social effects of digitalization. 

KISDI said that it expects to continue its close cooperation within the OECD by joining the related discussion and sharing Korea’s statistics activities, with Director Jung Yong-chan elected as vice-chairman of the OECD Working Party on Measurement and Analysis of the Digital Economy, following in the footstep of Dr. Ko Sang-won.
