The event is being organized by the National IT Industry Promotion Agency (NIPA), Korea Internet & Security Agency (KISA), National Information Society Agency (NIA), Korea Radio Promotion Association (RAPA), and Educational Broadcasting System (EBS) in order to share the achievements of ICT ODA projects (Ministry of Science and ICT sponsored projects in 2021) and discuss how such projects should be executed amidst the COVID-19 pandemic situation. The event will be attended by representatives of organizations that are running Official Development Assistance (ODA) projects in the ICT sector, ODA experts from the related government organizations, and international cooperation managers from private companies,

Through ICT ODA project execution organizations such as KISDI, NIPA, KISA, NIA, RAPA, and EBS, the Ministry of Science and ICT runs programs related with the construction of the ICT ODA management system, technology policy cooperation, training invitation, development bank cooperation, operation of a channel for collaborating with overseas ICT policy decision makers, installation and operation of K-Lab, improvement of the broadcasting environment, construction and operation of educational broadcasting program, and construction of an information center.

In session 1, each ICT ODA project execution organization will give a presentation on the project performance results in 2021. The presentations will be divided into development consulting, training, and other areas and projects. In session 2, through panel discussions, the participants will explore the directions for undertaking ICT ODA projects in this era of great transformations.

As part of the government’s Official Development Assistance (ODA) efforts, these projects are contributing towards eliminating the global digital gap by sharing the experience and knowledge South Korea acquired while developing its ICT industry and helping domestic companies to establish beachheads in overseas markets by creating a friendly policy environment and networks in partner countries.

Since 2003, KISDI has undertaken 93 projects in 28 countries in total. The workshop will also include an overview of the technology policy cooperation project, together with the key project performance results for 2021, followed by an announcement of the plans for 2022. Furthermore, during a discussion session, the attendees will talk about the future direction of ICT ODA projects in this era of great transformations.

This workshop will be broadcast online in strict compliance with the government's quarantine rules. People who wish to participate in the workshop should visit the KISDI website (http://www.kisdi.re.kr) and answer the survey titled ‘Effectiveness of ODA after the COVID-19 pandemic’.
