KISDI and KISTEP Sign MOU with Dongseong High School in Chungbuk Innovation City to Foster Local Talent

- Special lectures, mentoring, and field-based education to be supported using AI and ICT policy research expertise

- Contribution to nurturing talent for the AI and digital era through community partnerships

The Korea Information Society Development Institute (KISDI, President Sangkyu Rhee) and the Korea Institute of S&T Evaluation and Planning (KISTEP, Acting President Jiho Hwang) each signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Dongseong High School in Chungbuk Innovation City on March 16 to support the development of local talent and strengthen future competencies.

The agreement was established to support students in gaining experience in inquiry activities connected to real research environments through cooperation between public research institutes and schools. It also aims to help students develop the competencies required in the AI era.

Under the agreement, KISDI plans to collaborate with the school based on its expertise in AI and ICT policy research. The institute will provide special lectures and mentoring related to AI and ICT, as well as opportunities to participate in field-based educational programs. These activities are intended to enhance students’ understanding of AI and digital technologies and policies, and to support their self-directed career exploration.

This cooperation is meaningful in that national research institutes share their human and knowledge resources with the local community. It supports students in developing competencies required for the AI and digital era and encourages interest in policy-related fields and career exploration.
