KISDI and KISTEP Signed an MOU with Dongseong High School in Chungbuk Innovation City to Foster Local Talent

- Special lectures, mentoring, and field-based education were supported using expertise in AI and ICT policy research

- Contribution to fostering talent for the AI and digital era through linkage with the local community

The Korea Information Society Development Institute (KISDI, President Sangkyu Rhee) and the Korea Institute of S&T Evaluation and Planning (KISTEP, Acting President Jiho Hwang) signed memoranda of understanding (MOUs) with Dongseong High School, located in Chungbuk Innovation City, on March 16 to foster local talent and strengthen future competencies.

The agreements were organized to support students in experiencing inquiry activities connected to real research environments through cooperation between public institutions and schools. They were also intended to support the development of competencies required in the AI era.

Based on its expertise as an AI and ICT policy research institute, KISDI planned to cooperate with the school in providing special lectures and mentoring related to AI and ICT, as well as participation in field-based educational programs. These activities were intended to support students in improving their understanding of AI and digital technologies and policies, and in exploring career paths in a self-directed manner.

This cooperation was meaningful in that national research institutes shared their human and knowledge resources with the local community. It was also noted that such efforts could support students in developing competencies required for the AI and digital era and in exploring interests and career paths in policy-related fields.
