The Korea Information Society Development Institute (KISDI, President Sangkyu Rhee) announced that it held the sixth session of the "KISDI–Dongsung High School Education Program" on September 3 for students at Dongsung High School in Chungbuk Innovation City. The session marked the third reading discussion in the program.

The "KISDI–Dongsung High School Education Program" is a participatory educational initiative designed to help students independently explore social issues in the AI and digital era and consider potential solutions from a policy perspective. The program consists of 10 sessions, with Sessions 1–3 featuring special lectures by KISDI researchers and Sessions 4–6 focusing on reading discussions.

Session 6 followed the book café format used in previous sessions, allowing students to freely exchange opinions. While Sessions 4 and 5 addressed "Autonomous Vehicles" and "Job Competition with Machines," respectively, Session 6 focused on "Changes in Art in the AI and Digital Era." Students examined the meaning of human art and creativity in the age of AI.

Students discussed the nature of art and whether AI-generated paintings and music can be considered works of art. They also examined the impact of AI on human artistic activities and exchanged views on whether AI-generated creative works should be eligible for copyright protection.

KISDI plans to hold a special lecture by an external expert in Session 7. The institute will continue the education program to help students understand and explore social changes in the era of AI and digital transformation from a policy perspective.
