KISDI (President Ho-yeol Kwon) kicked off the 10th Korea Media Panel Academic Conference at EL Tower in Yangjae-dong on Sept. 30, 2022.
This Korea Media Panel Academic Conference marks the 10th conference to supply raw data from the Korea Media Panel survey, which started in 2010, to related academia, research institutions, and industries, and shares the study achievements.
The Korea Media Panel survey is the nationally approved statistical survey that is conducted to identify how the media consumption of households and individuals in households change in the mid-to-long term in a fast-changing media environment. Since it was conducted in 2010, this year marks the 13th edition of the survey. The data accumulated via Korea's only media panel survey that investigates the change in the media use patterns of the same household and individuals are used as invaluable study data for domestic and international researchers who study broadcasting and media.
At this conference, a new tutorial session on the panel data analysis method was introduced. A total of 15 papers including 12 general papers and three award-winning papers authored by graduate students was presented. Researchers in various fields including media informatics, economics, business administration, statistics, etc. participated in the presentation and debates to announce empirical study results from various viewpoints and themes in the media field.
The presentation is divided into five paper sessions: ▲ Effects and media use, ▲Media literacy and privacy; ▲OTT and social media users; ▲Analysis methodology of panel data; and ▲Presentation of best papers of graduate students.
