KISDI-SPRi-ETRI Joint Conference on Oct. 28, 2022

- ‘Digital Triangle Initiatives 2022’ -

Respective themes of the three sessions

KISDI (President Ho-yeol Kwon) kicked off the “Digital Triangle Initiative 2022 joint conference jointly with SPRi and ETRI at EL Tower Yangjae-dong on Oct. 28, 2022.

This year, the conference marks its third anniversary and held to share the research achievements of KISDI, SPRi, and ETRI, which are the representative ICT specialized research institutions in South Korea, and to discuss the strategies and policy direction,

The conference began with the opening remarks of Hyun-je Park, CEO of SPRi, and congratulatory messages from President Myung-joon Kim at ETRI, and President Ho-yeol Kwon at KISDI, followed by the sessions of the metaverse, AI, and international cooperation.

In the first metaverse session, Seung-hwan Lee, SPRi senior researcher, presented the topic of “metaverse era, changes in the way of work” and Pilsun Heo, senior ETRI researcher, explained the topic of “metaverse issues, ecosystem and economy system” on the theme of “Metaverse, Innovative New Paradigm”.

In the second session, Seon-jae Lee, ETRI researcher, proposed the content about “AI and features and implications of an AI semiconductor ecosystem” and Gang-min Park, SPRi researcher, discussed the “AI technical competition and implications” on the theme of “AI Era and Our Strategic Direction”.

In the third session, Center Director Yong-chan Jung at KSDI presented the topic of “data economy and data neutrality” and Division Director Sang-won Ko at KISDI presented the topic of “digital international cooperation” on the theme of “Data Economy and Digital International Cooperation”.

On this occasion, KISDI President Ho-yeol Kwon gave an address on how he wished to strengthen the future-oriented research competency and exchange cooperation between the three institutions for the purpose of seeking and formulating the policy direction to lead future innovation, with the conference serving as venue for the opportunity to actively support the national digital strategies sought by the current government.

The Digital Triangle Initiative 2022 conference is held annually regularly. This year, the conference will also be broadcast through live streaming on the website “http://spri.mlive.kr”
