KISDI held the 11th Korea Media Panel Academic Symposium on September 22 jointly with the Korean Association for Broadcasting & Telecommunication Studies (KABS) and the Korean Association for Survey Research (KASR).

A total of sixteen papers were presented at the Symposium, including the results of various studies utilizing raw data from the Korea Media Panel Survey, three winning papers of the graduate student contest, and the results of a wide range of empirical research on multifaceted media viewpoints in which researchers in media, economy, technology management, and statistics participated.

KISDI held the 11th Korea Media Panel Academic Symposium at Sportime in Yangjae-dong on September 22.

The Symposium aimed to present raw data from the Korea Media Panel Survey that began in 2010. As such, it provided raw data to the relevant academia, research institutes, industries, and policy authorities and shared the outcomes of diverse research.

The Korea Media Panel Survey is a nationally authorized statistics survey conducted to identify how consumption of the media by Korean households and individuals changes over a period in a rapidly changing media environment. This is the 14th edition of the survey since it was first conducted in 2010. The data accumulated from Korea’s only media panel survey are used to investigate changes in media use by the same households and individuals, and also serve as valuable research data for domestic and international researchers studying broadcasting and media.

A total of sixteen papers were presented at the conference, including thirteen general papers and three award-winning papers by graduate students. Researchers from various fields, including mass communication, economics, technology management, and statistics, presented research results and participated in discussions on various perspectives and topics in the media.

The presentation was divided into the following five sessions: ▲Media literacy and online activities in the digital era; ▲Metaverse and digital content: user psychology and choice;
▲Media consumption and change; ▲Panel data analysis methodology; and ▲Presentation of outstanding papers by graduate students.
