○ Date: October 23, 2023
○ Venue: 2nd floor video conference room, KISDI

The Center for International Cooperation Research of the Korea Information Society Development Institute (KISDI) held the kick-off meeting for the invited consultation of the 2023 ICT Technology Policy Cooperation Project (Support for establishing the Peruvian Communication Policy Strategy Plan) in the second-floor video conference room of KISDI (Jincheon, Chungbuk) at 10 AM on Monday, October 23.

The invited consultation, held from October 22 (Sun.) to October 28 (Sat), 2023, was part of the ongoing technological policy cooperation for establishing the Peruvian Communication Policy Strategy Plan, and was attended by five communication policy officials, including Ms. Liz Bony Asencios Pineda, Team Leader from the Peruvian Ministry of Transport and Communications (MTC). During the program, a detailed schedule was prepared to allow the Peruvian delegation to visit the related organizations and personally experience the current state of telecommunications and ICT in Korea and to seek advice on telecommunication policies by sharing related knowledge and experience at a series of seminars.

At the invited consultation kick-off meeting, Director of the Office of International Cooperation Dong-min Yim welcomed the Peruvian delegation and expressed hope that the program would provide an opportunity to increase understanding of the telecommunication policy fields of the two countries and discuss ways of promoting and maintaining their cooperation.

During this invited consultation period, the Peruvian delegation visited ETRI, KT Satellite Control Center, Samsung SDS, KT Future On, Seoul Digital Foundation, Kookmin University, GKEDC, SK Broadband IDC, SK T.um, and other ICT-related agencies and participated in seminars.

The Peruvian delegation plans to conduct on-site inspections, share expertise, and discuss key issues related to Korea's telecommunications policies and technology through the invited consultation program. A local final workshop will be held in Peru to reflect on the major issues raised during the invited consultation and to derive suggestions for a systematic approach to supporting the establishment of a strategic plan for Peru's telecommunications policy.
