Korea Information Society Development Institute (KISDI, President: Bang Suk Ho) had a meeting on Thursday afternoon, May 12, 2011 about Korea’s broadcasting and communications policies with Iranian ICT Minister Reza Taghipour Anvari,  special envoy to president and delegation, who visited Korea to attend World Information and Communications Summit 2011.
 
Before the talks, Director of Communications Trade Research Group, Kang Hayun, briefly introduced the functions and roles of KISDI as a government funded research institute.
 
At this meeting, Executive Director of Research Coordination Division Jeong Kuk Hwan, Executive Director of Telecommunications Policy Research Division Lee Myeong Ho, Executive Director of International Cooperation Division Seo Bo Hyun, Executive Director of Division of Reviews & Directives Choi Gae Iyong, Research Fellow Mun Sung Bae and Director of Broadcasting Regulation Research Group Lee Jae Young discussed major issues and policies of Korea’s broadcasting and communications such as regulation improvement for the promotion of the communications service market, current policies of cloud and smart services, policy direction of broadcasting and communications convergence and broadcasting & communications-related international cooperation and advisory mission for developing countries.
 
In response, Iranian Minister and his delegation expressed a special interest in Korea’s present broadcasting and communications policies and there were in-depth discussions and questions about national informatization and security.
 
The visit of ICT Minister of Iran and President’s Special Envoy to KISDI is expected to work as an opportunity to enhance exchanges and collaboration with Iran
