Korea Information Society Development Institute (KISDI, President: Bang Suk Ho) had a meeting on Thursday morning, May 12, 2011 about exchanges and cooperation between Korea and Laos on communications policies with a delegation led by Lao Vice President of NAPT (National Authority of Posts and Telecommunications), who visited Korea to attend World Information and Communications Summit 2011.
At the beginning of the meeting, Senior researcher Kim Jung Min introduced the major roles of KISDI and presented on the current status of ‘policy advisory and cooperation mission for developing countries’. She also briefly introduced Telecommunications Advisory Mission, which KISDI pushes forward with this year based on 2008 Laos Interconnection Policy Advisory Mission and 2010 Laos Radio Regulation Advisory Mission.
In response, Vice President Padapphet Sayakhot showed deep gratitude for Korea’s cooperation and assistance and said he hopes a good result of this year’s advisory mission based on the previous achievement.
Executive director of International Cooperation Division Seo Bo Hyun emphasized the close cooperative relationship between Korea and Laos in the broadcasting and communications sector and said he hopes that this year’s mission will be successfully completed based on previous cooperation, contributing to the development of Laos’s communications sector.
Active discussions followed as Lao delegation showed a great interest in Korea’s current issues in broadcasting and communications.
