The Korea Information Society Development Institute (KISDI) was visited by the delegation of Body of European Regulators for Electronic Communications (BEREC) and discussed the history and future of KISDI, and the development and current status of broadband Internet in Korea on October 25, 2012.

The meeting was attended by Dr. JongHwa Lee and Dr. JeongWook Byun from KISDI and Georg Serentschy, Chair of BEREC and CEO of Austrian Regulatory Authority for Broadcasting and Telecommunications and his delegation. Presentation on KISDI and Korea's successful broadband development was made and discussion followed over ICT policy issues and cooperation between Korea and EU.

BEREC, established in 2009, is an authority regulating the telecommunications industry of 27 EU member countries, and visited Korea to study ICT development in the country. During the visit to Korea, BEREC representatives made visits to KISDI, the Korea Communications Commission (KCC), Korea Telecommunications Operators Association (KTOA), SK Telecom, and KT.
