The Korea Information Society Development Institute (KISDI) held 'Seminar on the Evaluation of Broadcasting Content Competitiveness and Human Resource Management' on October 25, 2012 at the Korea Press Center.
Dr. JoonHo Hwang of KISDI made a presentation on 'The Evaluation of Broadcasting Content Competitiveness' in which the background and needs of the evaluation system introduction were explained and the concept of content competitiveness and its components were outlined. In this context, content competitiveness referred to 'the resources required for broadcasters to design, produce and distribute content', 'the capability needed in each stage of the processing' or 'advantage over other broadcasters in terms of economic and social performance'. He also added that the three major components of content competitiveness were resource competitiveness, process competitiveness, and performance competitiveness.
Dr. NamDoo Kim of KISDI presented on 'The Research on Human Resource Management' and explained the background, needs and purpose of the research. Opinions and comments on the six items on the research were exchanged at the seminar.
The discussion session moderated by Prof. DoYeon Kim of Kookmin Universisty was joined by Manager HuiJeong Kong, KT Skylife, Prof. SungChul Kim, Korea University, Manager HyungJun Kim, KBS, Prof. JunHo Do, Sookmyung Women's University, Manager YoungSeong Baek, CJ Hellovison, Director JungRyeol Lee, Daewon Media, and Manager HuiDae Lee, DMB Korea.
This was the first seminar on the evaluation of broadcasting content competitiveness and HR management, which was to be conducted by the Korea Communications Commission. The seminar was a meaningful opportunity to exchange various views and opinions on issues regarding competitiveness evaluation and HR management of broadcasting.
