The Korea Information Society Development Institute (KISDI) held the kick-off meeting and expert seminar for the Spectrum Management Consultation Project for Kyrgyzstan on 17 June, 2014 at a KISDI conference room. The six-day visit of the Kyrgyzstan delegation to Korea between 15 and 21 June was part of the KISDI spectrum consultation program and attended by five Kirghiz experts from pertinent organizations including Chyngyz Bektashov, chairman of the State Communication Agency. For the Kyrgyzstan delegation to have on-site experience of Korea’s spectrum management and obtain practical advice on spectrum management policies through knowledge and experience sharing, KISDI had prepared various programs from visits to related institutions to seminars with Korean spectrum experts.

Before the kick-off meeting and expert seminar, President Kim Do-Whan of KISDI met with Chairman Chyngyz Bektashov to welcome the delegation and discussed the continued cooperation between two countries in spectrum management.

During the visit, the Kirghiz delegates went on trips to the Central Radio Management Office (CRMO), the Satellite Radio Monitoring Center (SRMC) and the National Radio Research Agency (RRA), as well as attended several seminars. The KISDI consultation program served as a great opportunity for the delegation to see and learn how Korea manages and utilizes its spectrum resources and to discuss related issues. KISDI plans to visit Kyrgyzstan for on-site consultation and the final workshop, both of which will reflect the issues raised during this visit, and continue to provide systematic and constructive programs for the successful spectrum management in Kyrgyzstan.
