The Korean Information Society Development Institute (KISDI) and the Ministry of Science, ICT and Future Planning held the “2nd “ICT Future Strategy Seminar” on October 15, 2014 at the Palace Hotel Seoul.

This seminar was attended by 2nd Vice Minister Choi Jae-you of Science, ICT and Future Planning, President Kim Do-whan of KISDI and experts from ICT-related industries and research institutes and served as a venue to discuss a wide range of issues in the ICT sector, including the current status and future prospects of Korea’s ICT industry, and to draw policy implications.

Under the theme of “The Emergence of the Chinese Economy and Korea’s ICT Strategies”, Lee Chang-kyu, Senior Research Fellow of the Korea Institute for International Economic Policy, and Suh In-suk, CEO of Digital Conex Korea Inc., gave presentations titled “Chinese Economic Outlook and Ways to Strengthen Cooperation”, and “Korean ICT Companies’ Strategies to Enter the Chinese Market: Cases of Korean and Chinese Game Businesses”, respectively.

In the following panel discussion, with Dr. Kim Jeong-eon of KISDI as the moderator, the participating experts shared their views on the growth of the Chinese economy and discussed the current status and necessary strategies of ICT manufacturers, telcos, SMEs and other players in the ICT industry in Korea.
