KISDI Held 2025 Science and Technology and Digital ODA Performance-Sharing Workshop

○ Title: “2025 Science and Technology and Digital ODA Performance-Sharing Workshop”
○ Date and Time: November 26, 2025 (Wed), 14:00–17:30
○ Venue: NIA Seoul Office (B1 Conference Hall)

The Korea Information Society Development Institute (KISDI, President Sangkyu Rhee) held the “2025 Science and Technology and Digital ODA Performance-Sharing Workshop” on November 26 at the Seoul office of the National Information Society Agency (NIA). The workshop was co-organized with the National IT Industry Promotion Agency (NIPA), the National Research Foundation of Korea (NRF), the Korea Internet & Security Agency (KISA), the Radio Promotion Association of Korea (RAPA), and the National Information Society Agency (NIA).

The workshop was organized for approximately 80 participants from organizations and companies involved in the Ministry of Science and ICT’s official development assistance (ODA) programs. It reviewed project outcomes for 2025 and discussed future implementation plans.

Through its implementing agencies, the Ministry of Science and ICT operated ODA programs including ICT policy cooperation, invitation-based training programs, cooperation with development banks, cooperation channels for overseas ICT policymakers, establishment and operation of K-Labs, support for improving broadcasting environments, establishment of information access centers, and science and technology support projects utilizing intellectual property.

In Session 1, participating organizations presented their 2025 project outcomes and 2026 implementation plans. In Session 2, panel discussions reviewed the Ministry of Science and ICT’s ODA programs and discussed directions for further development.

The Ministry’s ODA programs shared Korea’s experience and knowledge in science, technology, and digital development with partner countries and examined approaches to addressing the global digital divide. They also reviewed policy and network development in partner countries in relation to overseas market entry by Korean firms.

This year’s workshop was held in connection with the Science and Technology and Digital International Development Cooperation Forum, one of the government’s 2025 Development Cooperation Week events. KISDI has carried out more than 100 ICT policy cooperation projects in over 30 countries since 2002. At the workshop, KISDI presented an overview of its 2025 self-evaluation of the Ministry’s ODA programs and its ICT policy cooperation projects.

The workshop reviewed perspectives from participating institutions and the private sector on improving program effectiveness and future directions for implementation.
