KISDI to Host the 13th Korea Media Panel Academic Conference on November 7

Co-hosted by KISDI, the Korean Association for Broadcasting & Telecommunication Studies, the Korean Association for Survey Research, the Korean Society for Journalism & Communication Studies, and the Korea Information and Communications Policy Association -

The Korea Information Society Development Institute (KISDI, President Sangkyu Rhee) will host the 13th Korea Media Panel Academic Conference on November 7 at Spottime in Yangjae-dong, Seoul.

The conference is the thirteenth academic event organized to provide raw data from the Korea Media Panel Survey, conducted since 2010, to academia, research institutes, industry, and policymakers and to share related research outcomes.

The Korea Media Panel Survey is a nationally approved statistical survey designed to examine medium- and long-term changes in media consumption among Korean households and individuals within households amid a rapidly evolving media environment. Since its first implementation in 2010, the survey has reached its sixteenth wave this year. As the only panel survey in Korea tracking changes in media use among the same households and individuals, the accumulated data serve as valuable research resources for domestic and international scholars in broadcasting and media studies.

At this year’s conference, a total of 16 papers will be presented, including 13 general papers and three award-winning graduate student papers. Researchers from diverse fields—including media and communication studies, economics, technology management, and statistics—will participate in presentations and discussions, presenting empirical research findings from multiple perspectives on media-related topics.

Presentations will be organized into six sessions: technology adoption in the AI era; digital technology and consumer behavior; sharing outcomes from major panel surveys and innovations in survey methods; characteristics of AI users; digital media use and information production; and outstanding graduate student paper presentations.

The conference will be held from 9:30 a.m. to 2:50 p.m. on November 7, 2025, at the Melon Hall, Orange Hall, and Apple Hall on the fifth floor of Spottime in Yangjae-dong, Seoul. The event is co-hosted by KISDI, the Korean Association for Broadcasting & Telecommunication Studies, the Korean Association for Survey Research, the Korean Society for Journalism & Communication Studies, and the Korea Information and Communications Policy Association.

The conference will be conducted in both on-site and online formats. Members of the public may participate either in person or via live streaming, which will be available through the conference website.
