KISDI President Ho-yeol Kwon kicked off the 10th Korea Media Panel Academic Conference at EL Tower in Yangjae-dong on Sept. 30, 2022.

This Korea Media Panel Academic Conference is the 10th conference to supply raw data from the Korea Media Panel Survey that was initiated in 2010 to related academia, research institutions, and industries, and shares the study achievements.

The Korea Media Panel Survey is the nationally approved statistical survey that is conducted to identify how the media consumption of households and individuals in households change in the mid-to-long term in a fast-changing media environment. Since it was launched in 2010, this year marks the 13th edition. The data accumulated via Korea's only media panel survey that investigates the change in the media use patterns of the same households and individuals are used as valuable study data for domestic and international researchers who study broadcasting and media.

At this conference, a new tutorial session on the panel data analysis method was introduced. A total of 15 papers including 13 general papers and three award-winning papers by graduate students were presented. Researchers in various fields including media informatics, economics, business administration, statistics, etc. participated in both the presentation and debates to announce empirical study results from various viewpoints and themes in the media field.

The presentation was organized into five paper sessions: ▲ Effects and media use, ▲Media literacy and privacy, ▲OTT and social media users, ▲Analysis methodology of panel data, and ▲Presentation of top-quality papers of graduate students.

For reference, an online live streaming was available for the general participants to use at this event as an option to follow COVID-19 protocols.
