The Korea Information Society Development Institute (KISDI) held 'Connectivity & Creativity Forum – 10 ICT Agendas: Tasks for the 19th National Assembly' on March 15, 2012 at conference room of the Korea Federation of Banks, which was designed to debate national agenda and ICT policy direction in preparation for ICT paradigm shift.
Co-chairman of Connectivity & Creativity Forum, Prof. Hui-Jun Song of Ewha Womans University said “We are living in an era of connectivity and creativity in which ICT paradigm is changing and the Internet is a communication channel between humans and objects and a source of creativity.”
10 ICT agendas are as follows: ① Smart government administration, ② Reliable cyber environment, ③ Increased consumer benefits through market competition, ④ New paradigm for ICT ecosystem promotion, ⑤ Innovation of industrial ecosystem by fostering competitive SMEs, ⑥ Paradigm shift for fostering ICT experts, ⑦ Enhanced global competitiveness of Korea-made content, ⑧ Content-driven ICT industrial structure, ⑨ Public media in a smart media environment, ⑩ Efforts to improve free expression and social responsibility in a smart media environment
In a penal discussion session moderated by co-chairman of the forum, Prof. Jin-Woo Park of Korea University, in-depth discussion on ICT agendas was made among Prof. Si-Yeong Jang (Sungkyunkwan University), Prof. Cheol-Ho Oh (Soongsil University), Prof. Yong-Gyu Kim (Hanyang University), Prof. Seok-Min Yoon (Seoul National University), Prof. Jeong-Hoon Park (Seoul National University), Prof. Do-Hyun Kim (Kookmin University), Prof. Hui-Jun Song (Ehwa Womans University), and Dr. Gae-Iyong Choi (KISDI).
This seminar is expected to provide a foundation for in-depth discussion on national ICT agenda in preparation for upcoming changes, and 10 agendas suggested at the forum are expected to serve as a basis for framing new ICT policies in response to changes in ICT environment.
