KISDI President Dong-Wook Kim gave a keynote speech "Korea's Experiences in Transparent and Effective Governance” at ITU Asia Pacific Regional Development Forum which was held at UNCC in Bangkok, Thailand from May 16 to 18.
President Kim, as a keynote speaker, talked about Korea's successful broadband strategies and the needs for establishing a new broadband environment in response to changing global ICT ecosystem.
Panel discussion followed on the theme of ‘Transparent and Effective Governance in the Digital Age’, and in-depth discussion on transparent and effective governance in a digital age was made among panelists: KISDI President Dong-Wook Kim, Counselor Christopher Forax of EU, Chairman Bhesh Raj Kanel of Nepal Telecommunication Authority, Regulator Donnie De Freitas of Samoa Office of the Regulator, Senior ICT Specialist Daniel Kingsley of USAID, Chief ICT Officer Jigme Wangde of Bhutan Department of Information Technology & Telecom, Program Specialist Jong-Hwi Park of UNESCO Bangkok, and Public Management Specialist Seok-Young Yoon of ADB
This forum was focused on idea-exchanging among ICT policy makers and ICT managers in industries and international organizations, and strengthening partnership in Asia-Pacific initiative and project.
President Kim had an in-depth discussion with ITU Regional Director Eun-Ju Kim over KISDI's role in ICT sector, and had an interview with Asian TV, local Cable TV broadcaster in Thailand, on Korea's advanced ICT industry, and KISDI's role and functions.
