The Korea Information Society Development Institute (KISDI) broke ground on its new research building on December 11, 2012 in Chungbuk Inno-City.

KISDI President DongWook Kim said in his memorial speech that in this place, KISDI will advance into the world's best ICT research institute through the clusters of industry, academia and research.

Vice Minister DongHan Yuk said, in his congratulatory speech, that for the past 27 years, KISDI has significantly contributed to Korea's growth into global ICT powerhouse with extensive research on ICT and broadcasting-media. He also emphasized that the Prime Minister's Office will spare no efforts for improving residential and research environments.

The new research building of KISDI, an energy-efficient six story building with one basement level which has a site area of 35,400㎡ and a gross floor area of 19,600 ㎡, will be constructed in Chung buk Inno-City by May 2014. A total of KRW 41.2 billion will be spent to construct the green building with geothermal heating and cooling system, highly energy efficient LED lighting system, and photovoltaic system.  

Chungbuk Inno-city project includes the relocation of 11 public institutions including KISDI into Duksan-Myeon, Jincheon-gun and Meangdong-Myeon, Eumseong-gun, and the project will transform this area into a low-carbon and green city in which  the education, cultural activities and living of 420,000 residents are supported with a well-established infrastructure.
