The Korea Information Society Development Institute (KISDI) held 'Seminar on Vision and Tasks for the Ministry of Future, Planning and Sciences' on February 1, 2013 at the Korea Chamber of Commerce & Industry.

 
This seminar was held to define tasks and provide a vision for the Ministry of Future, Planning and Sciences, a ministry emerging as a core body for the Park Keun Hye administration to lead a 'creative economy', and the seminar was attended by more than 300 participants including ICT experts and government officers from ICT and technology-related institutions and ministries.

Prof. ChangKyung Kim of Hanyang University made a presentation titled 'The role and Vision for the Ministry of Future, Planning and Sciences' at the seminar. Prof. Kim emphasized that creative technologies should serve to create new markets and jobs, and to lead a 'brainware' era in which hardware, software, designing, and content are converged.


In the discussion session moderated by Prof. HaeYong Yoo, in-depth presentation and discussions on the future direction for the Ministry of Creative Science for Future were made including ▲Vision and Tasks for the Ministry of Future, Planning and Sciences(by Prof. JaeWon Kwak, Hyanyang University) ▲Role and Vision for the Ministry of Future, Planning and Sciences(by JinWoo Park, Korea University) ▲Now is the Time to Discuss Creative Economy and the System of the Ministry of Future, Planning and Sciences(by Dr. JangJae Lee, KISTEP) ▲Role of the Ministry of Future, Planning and Sciences(by President DongYoung Jang, Seoul Techno Park), ▲ ICT and Creative Economy (Dr. GaeIyoung Choi, KISDI)


This seminar contributed to defining the status and role of the newly-established Ministry of Future, Planning and Sciences, and the Ministry is expected to serve as an organization promoting creative economy by converging creativity, imagination and technologies.
