The Korea Information Society Development Institute (KISDI) invited government officials of Ministry of Post and Telecommunications (MPT) of Bangladesh and National Institute of Information and Communications Strategy (NIICS) of Vietnam, including Additional Secretary SM Shawkat Ali and Vice president, and held 'Seminar on ICT Knowledge Sharing for Development Promotion' from March 20 to 22, 2013.
This seminar was held to report the result of 'ICT Knowledge Sharing for Development Promotion' project, which is designed to develop the right development models for Vietnam and Bangladesh for improving broadband capacity, partnership with Korea, and network with international organizations, and to introduce ICT policies of Korea.
The seminar started with the greetings of KISDI President Dongwook Kim, and was followed by presentation 'Digital Economy in Korea' of Dr. Sangwon Ko over ▲ Definition and current status of Digital Economy, ▲ ICT industry and Policy direction in Korea, ▲ Facility-based competition for network expansion, ▲ e-Government, Advanced network, and ▲ Supports for HR, R&D, and SMEs.
In the panel discussion session, Additional Secretary Ali, Vice President Tuan and other government officials exchanged views on ICT policies of Korea and ICT industries of their countries.
This seminar provided a meaningful opportunity to have an in-depth discussion on ICT industries of Korea, Bangladesh, and Vietnam and policy direction in preparation for the final workshop of the project. The seminar is expected to promote active exchanges among the three countries with ICT policy networks.
