The WTDC-14 is a quadrennial international forum where government delegations and related groups from 190 ITU member countries will gather and discuss major agendas and strategies for the development of telecommunications and ICTs over the next four-year period. The main agendas include international cooperation programs, new technologies such as broadband and ways to bridge regional digital divide.
Before the APT meeting, the four-day ITU Regional Development Forum for the Asia-Pacific Region was held between 29 April and 2 May, and attended by Dr. Sok An, Deputy Prime Minister of Cambodia, Dr. Hamadoun I. Touré, Secretary-General and other executives from the ITU.
Dr. Seo, who had served as the chairman of a special committee organized to set ITU development goals for the next four years (2014-2018), was presented a plague of appreciation from the Cambodian government for his contribution.
