The Open Forum on Information Communications Promotion and Convergence Strategy was jointly held by the Ministry of Science, ICT and Future Planning (MSIP) and the Korean Information Society Development Institute (KISDI) at the conference room of KISDI on March 3, 2014.
This forum was organized to seek the views and opinions of academia, industry and citizens on the subject.
Dr. Choi Gae-Iyong of KISDI made a presentation on the basic direction for the information communications promotion and convergence strategy, which had been prepared in the light of changes in the ICT environment as well as the achievements and limitations of existing policies.
In the following panel discussion, with Prof. Cho Dong-Ho of KAIST as the moderator, Myeong Seung-Eun, CEO of VentureSquare, Prof. Byeon Kwang-June of Ajou University, Suh Dong-Hyuk, Director of Growth Engine Industry Research Division at the Korea Institute for Industrial Economics and Trade, Yoon Young-Chan, director of NHN Media Service Department, Han Sang-Wan, director of the Hyundai Research Institute, and Kim Nam-Chul, official of Policy Coordination Division at the MSIP shared their views and insights on the suggested policy direction.
The outcomes of this forum are expected to facilitate further discussions on policy measures for information communications promotion and convergence.
