The Korea Information Society Development Institute (KISDI) held the “Workshop on Long-Term Direction for Broadcasting Policy and Policy Recommendations“ on February 25 at KOBACO Training Institute.
This workshop was organized to present the results of “A Study on the Basic Direction of Broadcasting Policy and Future Tasks in the Changing Media Environment” performed by KISDI in 2015, and to share the views of broadcasting experts on the vision and challenges for building a sound media ecosystem in response to the ever-changing environment surrounding broadcasting and telecommunications convergence.
With Dr. Park Tong-wook, Director of the Department of Broadcasting and Media Research at KISDI, as the moderator, Dr. Hwang Joon-ho and Dr. Sung Wook-jei of KISDI gave presentations on the establishment of a future-oriented broadcasting regulatory framework, ways to strengthen the public interest in broadcasting, the creation of a fair broadcasting market as well as on future growth engines for the broadcasting industry, which were followed by active discussions of experts from the relevant fields.
