Dr. Seo Bo-Hyun, Managing Director of International Cooperation Division at the Korea Information Society Development Institute(KISDI) attended ITU Asia-Pacific Regional Development Forum 2016 (ASP-RDF 2016) held at Sofitel Philippine Plaza, Manila, Philippines on 6 and 7 June 2016, and gave a presentation on ways to implement the Asia Pacific Regional Initiatives, sharing Korea’s success story in the ICT sector.
Jointly organized by the ITU and the Department of Science and Technology of Philippines, the forum discussed issues related with Asia-Pacific Regional Initiatives which will be adopted at the World Telecommunication Development Conference 2017 in October 2017 in Argentina, a premier congress in ITU-D.
At RDF-ASP 2016, Ioane Koroivukim, Regional Director for the ITU Regional Office for Asia and the Pacific, delivered a presentation on outcomes in the implementation of the Asia-Pacific Initiatives. And Dr. Seo, Vice Chair of TDAG, talked about how to implement Asia-Pacific Initiatives 2017-2020 whose goal is to achieve Sustainable Development Goals by harnessing ICT. He also talked about how Korea ranked the first in the ITU ICT Development Index (IDC), and joined the discussion on applying Korea’s experience to developing countries.
