The Korea Information Society Development Institute (KISDI) conducted preliminary survey and on-site counselling for policy counselling for Rwanda radio management with the Rwanda Utilities Regulatory Authority (RURA) in Kigali, Rwanda last July 18 ~ 21, 2016.
This workshop, which was attended by Dr. Seo Bo-hyun of KISDI, who is responsible for policy counselling for Rwanda, as well as experts from the Central Radio Management Office (CRMS), Electronics and Telecommunications Research Institute (ETRI), Korea Radio Promotion Association (RAPA), and Only Infortel, featured policy counselling on issues such as the status of ICT and policies as well as legal regulations on radio management in Korea and radio monitoring system including radio environment survey. Moreover, with Director Patrick Nyirishema in attendance, the Korean Central Radio Management Office and Rwanda Utilities Regulatory Authority signed an MOU for cooperation in the field of radio management and discussed mid- to long-term methods for cooperation between the two institutions.
Meanwhile, the policy advisory group of KISDI visited the Korean embassy in Rwanda to discuss the status of the policy counselling project for Rwanda and plans for strengthening future cooperation between the two countries with Ambassador Park Yong-min and Deputy Director Lee Myeong-sin of KOICA.
