The Korea Information Society Development Institute (KISDI) hosted a kick-off meeting and an expert seminar for invitation counselling on 「Policy counselling for Rwanda radio management」 at the meeting room on the fourth floor of the Korea Information Society Development Institute (Jincheon, Chungcheongbuk-do) at 10AM on September 5, 2016 (Mon.).

The invitation counselling, which was held last September 4 (Sun.) ~ 10 (Sat.), 2016 as part of the policy counselling for Rwanda radio management, was attended by three public officials from the Rwanda Utilities Regulatory Authority (RURA), including Mr. James Musinguzi, the department head of radio monitoring at RURA. For the duration of the counselling, the delegation from Rwanda visited radio management institutions to experience the status of radio management in Korea and engaged in detailed programs for obtaining advice on radio management policies by sharing the relevant knowledge and experiences through seminars.

At the kick-off meeting, Seo Bo-hyun, head of the International Organization Cooperation Group, welcomed the visit by the delegation from Rwanda, expressing hope that this invitation counselling program will be an opportunity for enhancing understanding on the radio policies and radio environment management of the two countries and for discussing methods of carrying out consistent cooperation.

For the duration of the invitation counselling, the Rwandan delegation visited radio management institutions such as Electronics and Telecommunications Research Institute (ETRI), North Seoul Branch of the Seoul Radio Management Service, Satellite Radio Monitoring Center (SRMC), and Innonet and attended seminars. Through the invitation counselling program, the Rwandan delegation visited sites related to radio management policies and technology in Korea, shared technical knowledge, and discussed major issues. A final workshop will be conducted, where suggestions for radio management policies for Rwanda will be produced through systematic approaches by reflecting the major issues that have been presented in the invitation counselling.
