The Korea Information Society Development Institute (KISDI) hosted a policy suggestion discussion forum for the intelligence information society at Hotel Mercure in Seoul last September 27 (Fri.).

This policy suggestion discussion forum served as a venue for sharing and discussing opinions that have been collected through “citizen public offering on information and suggestions for the intelligence information society and the fourth industrial information,” which has been conducted since the end of last August. The Ministry of Science, ICT, and Future Planning is accepting opinions from experts in various fields and interested citizens in order to establish better policies in the process of preparing the “Comprehensive mid- to long-term policy for the intelligence information society.” The forum sought to listen to and discuss outstanding suggestions among the policy suggestions that have been collected and to identify methods of utilizing them on the relevant policies in the future.

During the discussion forum, Dr. Cha Doo-won of the Korea Institute of Science & Technology Evaluation and Planning, who was selected as an excellent suggester, gave a presentation on the “Method for coexistence between human and machines in the intelligence information society”; this was followed by debates by academic and industrial experts, such as Professor Choi Hang Sub of Kookmin University, Dr. Kim Han Jun from the Employment Information Service, and Dr. Cho Yoo Ri from KISDI, with Group Leader Lee Ho Young of the KISDI ICT strategic research office presiding.
