On November 17 (Friday), in the Members Conference Room of the Korea Chamber of Commerce and Industry, KISDI held a symposium on the topic, ‘Digital Society Policies in the Era of the 4th Industrial Revolution: The Practicality of Measures to Address the Changes in the Employment Structure and the Related Challenges'.
The objective of this symposium was to debate the tasks facing our society as we make the transition to the era of the Fourth Industrial Revolution and, in more specific terms, to discuss the scenario in which technology performs many jobs previously done by humans, the policies designed to address this problem, and the practicality of these policies.
During the symposium, presentations were given in the following order: ‘The Fourth Industrial Revolution: the Evolution of Concreative History', ‘A Comparative Analysis of the Effectiveness of Various Types of Social Policies for Dealing with AI-based Automation', ‘Ways of Improving/Using IT Job Training Programs when Changing Jobs', and ‘Policy Tasks and Ways of Innovating the Educational System in an AI Environment'.
The ensuing round-table discussions featured experts from industry and academia who debated and answered questions. The round-table was chaired by Professor Lee Jong-kwan (Sungkyunkwan University), and the discussion topic was ‘The Realities and Challenges of Responding to Changes in the Employment Structure". The experts were Professor Kim Won-joong (Kunkuk University), Team Leader Kim Dong-gyu (Korea Software Industry Association), and Professor Min Kyung-bae (Kyung Hee Cyber University).
