KISDI Holds '68th ICT Policy Forum' on December 27

The Korea Information Society Development Institute (KISDI, acting president Kim Jeong-eon) held the '68th ICT Policy Forum' on December 27 at the Adonis Hall of Samjung Hotel.
The ICT Policy Forum is held by KISDI to present the direction of ICT policy and future policies. In its 68th year this year, the forum provided a stage for sharing the latest research of KISDI in major research areas such as digital economy and society, digital infrastructure and services, and digital international cooperation.
The forum included presentations by the head researchers of seven research projects, panel discussions and general discussions. The seven projects were ▲The Direction of Network Policy in the Trump 2.0 era (Senior Research Fellow Yeo Jae-hyun), ▲ Global AI Regulation Trends and Implications (Senior Research Fellow Ko Sang-won), ▲ Social Benefits of 10 Digital Services Using Experimental Economics (Associate Research Fellow Yeon So-ra), ▲ Research of Changes in Work by Industry Caused by Technological Progress (Associate Research Fellow Seo Young-sun), ▲ Productivity by Industry and Growth Contribution of ICT and Knowledge-based Intangible Assets (Research Fellow Chung Hyun-joon), ▲ Analysis of the Effects of New MNO Entry in the Overseas Mobile Communication Market (Research Fellow Kim Min-hee), and ▲ Review of the Feasibility of Genre Classification of Broadcasting Programs: Focusing on the Differences in Genre Classification Standards of the Broadcasting Act and Broadcasters and Receivers (Associate Research Fellow Hwang Hyun-jung). 
The discussion that followed the presentations was chaired by Professor Lee Kyung-won of Dongguk University (President of the Korea Association for Telecommunications Policies). Seven experts participated in the discussion: Professor Kim Nam of Chungbuk National University, Professor Yoon Hye-sun of Hanyang University, Professor Kim Joeng-yeol of KDI School, Professor Kim Min-jik of Korea University of Technology and Education, Cho Tae-hyung, Vice President of the Bank of Korea's Economic Research Institute, Professor Park Min-soo of Sungkyunkwan University, and Professor Lee Hye-rim of Korea University.
KISDI Acting President Kim Jeong-eon said, “The rapid development of digital technology causes various changes across society." "We need to recognize and respond to the urgency of the issues of internal and external environmental change such as digital transformation and artificial intelligence," Kim said.
